Tawny slid the phone back in her pocket. She really couldn’t be doing with Lola’s nonsense right now. It was a good thing Lola didn’t know where they were. She wouldn’t have put it past her to turn up and start bothering the band as well.

Leaving the studio, they crossed the car park to the seven-seater parked at the far end. Tawny climbed into the back seat, deciding to keep her equipment on her knee for safekeeping. She didn’t want it crashing around in the boot.

It wasn’t until they had pulled out of the car park that Finn spoke.

“Shit. He’s behind us.”

Tawny looked up at the rear-view mirror. Behind them was a large black car with tinted windows. The figure in the driver’s seat was too faint to see properly.

“Are you sure it’s him?” Marsh asked from the driving seat.

“It’s him.” Finn glanced back over his shoulder. “I recognise the bastard.”

“Right.” Marsh caught Tawny’s eye in the mirror. “Tawny, are you buckled in?”

“Yes.”

“Then let’s go.”

And with that Marsh shifted down a gear and floored the accelerator.
